AI FInal Assignment Choice

For the final, I would be doing an AI confession. I do have some things to confess, as I did use it like three or so times before realizing how terrible it was. I caught on really quick to how terrible it is for the environment, artists, creatives, your brain in general, and so on. Which is why, as much as I love creative writing, I won’t do option one. I refuse to work alongside an AI, especially with how much we trashed on Cinnamon. I just can’t do it to myself to work with AI (I would hate it so very much to open AI and work with it) and also because of how much I hated Cinnamon’s writing. I can’t put my good quality work through AI and work with it as a partner. No thank you. Also, we saw how bad AI Dungeon is with my own presentation. So that is also a no. I couldn’t do that to the fellow gamers or players, especially not as one myself and not when I hated on it for a presentation.

SO, by no other choice really, I plan to confess my early mistakes of using AI. That I no longer do at all, cause I am a full hater. Forever.

Final Project Initial Ideas

This is a very interesting way to finish off the course. A creative writing piece was not what I had in mind for an “AI final,” but I think it’s very interesting and challenges, once more, our positions towards AI.

For the final project, I think I’m leaning towards a short story or flash piece about a futuristic lifestyle with AI. I think of using as references movies/stories like Blade Runner 2049, Cyberpunk, and Her. I see the main character walking into their house and starting a conversation with their Alexa/Siri/Gemini. Some of the conversations will include “government requirements,” which could potentially refer to government surveillance and target marketing efforts (inspired by the surveillance videos and Black Mirror).

In how the story will be structured, I’m still trying to figure it out. My biggest concern is the text length and whether I should write the whole thing as a conversation, a narration, or as an AI report.

As for my use of AI, I think I’ll use it for vocabulary explorations and for specific technology objects or definitions. I don’t think I’ll be using full extracts from AI or quoting it per se, but I’m excited to see in the workshop how to still give AI attributions in a creative story.
